WORK TEXT
Two surfaces, both moving.
Both holding something out of sight.

Neither speaks. Neither is still.
What passes through does not leave in the same form.
What remains is not visible.

Structure as promise.
Depth as question.

Both may carry what is no longer here.
Both may carry what was never named.

FOCUS
The work operates within a long-term investigation into optical instability, control, and the collapse of structured systems – extending a body of work that includes large-format painting, video, and installation. A three-dimensional landscape generated from a distorted checkerboard surface is held in dialogue with darkly toned water footage developed over several years.

DEVELOPMENT
The 3D environment originates from a large-format painting exploring optical distortion, instability, and the collapse of controlled structures. The painting was translated into a navigable digital landscape through procedural mesh generation and manual sculpting mesh sculpture animated with shape keys in Blender. The water footage was shot on a vessel and developed through colour grading into its current form over several years and previous works.
