Own World Expressions – Interview with Pelle
His expression lives through music and videos, which he underlines with performances. Showing movement and its language, creating his own worlds in which he can find a language for his feelings and eyes.
Can you introduce yourself and your practice?
I’m Pelle and i am a video artist and musician. In my portrait videos i lean into a documentary direction, where i show the world which i see, through other voices. A big part of my expression is also through my music, which i underline with performances in videos.
Can you tell us about your artistic practice and how you work across video and music?
I’m Pelle and im working mostly behind the camera but also perform in front of it. The way how i create my worlds begins mainly in the colour grading of my videos. In the music i express myself through writing and a microphone. For me it is inevitable to do that really close with the music production itself. A big part of my craft happens to be collectively, which is a crucial and precious way of working for me. Either way in music projects or in videos which don’t only represent one voice.
Why do you feel the need to create?
I’m Pelle and i need this kind of expression to create own worlds in which i can find a language for my feelings and eyes.
How the different places influence your creative process?
I’m Pelle and I mostly work home at my own place where im with me. But also come to creating on the way to something, someone or with someone. A big source for my creations are different locations with their people and friends outside of my hometown.
At what time of day do you feel most creative?
